Once an owner confirms a booking and insurance is issued, the rental is confirmed and the driver card on file is charged. Once booked, the driver will receive i) Insurance in the driver’s name, ii) Registration Form in car owner’s name and iii) Inspection Form. Upload the three documents to the ridesharing portal in order to get started. Contact the car owner to meet up at a designated location to pick up the car.
At the pick-up site, both the driver and the owner should do a walkthrough together to make sure that both of them are on the same page. Make sure to take pictures of the car (front side, back side, passenger side, driver side, interior) as well as the dashboard (gas/mileage). If there is existing damage or scratches, it is recommended that the driver reports this to the support team to avoid future discrepancies. To do this, go to Dashboard -> Contact Support.
Important steps for car owners:
- Confirm that the driver has the insurance printed out or on the HyreCar dashboard and take a photo of the license. Please do not hand off the car until HyreCar issues insurance.
- Car owners are required to take the 5 photos on the app before confirming pickup. Make sure to sign the electronic inspection form.
- Car Owners must click on “Confirm Pickup” to start the rental.
