All drivers paying with a debit or prepaid card will be charged a $200.00 refundable deposit. Drivers paying with a credit card will not be charged the $200 deposit, but the card will be kept on file for any incidental damages. The following states do not have mandatory deposits, regardless of payment type: Florida, Colorado, Nevada.
When requesting the vehicle, the deposit will be added to the rental charges at checkout.
All deposits are refundable pending the return of the vehicle in the condition it was rented in. Once a vehicle with a deposit on file has been returned and confirmed with no damages, the deposit refund will be issued to the account the funds originated from.
Deposit refunds can take up to 7-10 Business days to reflect in your bank once issued to you. Please note that vehicle damage, unpaid late days and excess mileage can be assessed out of the deposit on file for the rental.
You will also have the option of having us hold your deposit on file, if you would like to rent another vehicle before the 7-10 business days it would take for a return.
Vehicle owners are not allowed to charge drivers any additional deposits or fees, all transactions must be done through the HyreCar platform, for the safety and protection of our owners and drivers.
HyreCar reserves the right to deduct from the deposit amount upon investigation of a claim in order to compensate the vehicle owner when necessary.
