We expect all Drivers using HyreCar services to follow these basic guidelines when renting from the marketplace:
- Maintain communication with the Owner of the vehicle during the rental
- Always be courteous, respectful, and professional towards any member of the HyreCar community
- If a Driver is in need of roadside assistance due to an accident, they should reach out to HyreCar support via phone or chat, and keep the Owner informed
- If roadside assistance is needed due to mechanical issues (not an accident), the first point of contact should be with the vehicle Owner, as they are responsible for all maintenance related issues
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy
- If Drivers do not feel comfortable or safe with the rental, they should immediately inform HyreCar support and coordinate with the Owner to schedule a drop off or initiate the cancellation
- Drivers should complete a walk-through with the vehicle Owner at the beginning and end of the rental to avoid any discrepancies in the future
- Take plenty of photos at check-in and check-out
- Drivers should ensure that the rental insurance has been generated before coordinating check-in with the Owner
- On the day of check-out Drivers and Owners should communicate a meeting point a few hours before the rental is due to streamline the check-out process
- Drivers should return the vehicle with the same amount of gas it was received
- HyreCar has a “no pet policy” for vehicles; Service animals are not pets
- Extensions are due before the rental time is set to expire, Drivers should extend with plenty several hours left on the rental to avoid late fees
- All late returns should be communicated to the Owner
- Drivers should always review their rental experiences to maintain the quality of our marketplace
