How do Drivers submit requests for a refund?
Refund requests can be submitted to the HyreCar Support Team via chat, email or phone at 866-949-9446. Each request will be reviewed by the billing team before a refund is authorized. A refund can take anywhere from 2-10 business days to reach the Driver's account when issued. The exact timeline depends on the bank to which the charge is refunded. Note: National Holidays may delay processing time for refunds.
All payments will be refunded to the original form of payment and cannot be re-routed. In the event the account is no longer accessible, please reach out to the bank directly for assistance. HyreCar is not responsible for refunds issued to accounts or cards closed in negative standing.
What types of requests are eligible for a refund?
- Refunds for cancelled rentals - If a rental has been accepted by the Owner, but not yet checked-in, Drivers can cancel for a full refund as long as they have communicated to HyreCar support prior to the day of scheduled pickup.
- Early check-out due to vehicle issues and/or maintenance - Drivers may return a rental early due to maintenance-related issues. Drivers will be refunded the remaining eligible amount based on an inverstiagtion by HyreCar’s Incident Specialist team.
- Vehicle not needed - Drivers may choose to return a rental early due to simply not needing the vehicle anymore. The amount refunded will be based on the daily rental rate of the vehicle, and the Driver will be refunded the remaining eligible amount.

Deposit - Deposits held will be automatically refunded 48-hours after the check-out process is completed and no incidents are filed by the Owner. If an Owner files a claim, an investigation will need to take place prior to any deposits being released. If the investigation deems the Driver responsible, HyreCar reserves the right to apply the deposit to any outstanding fees, or damage.
- For Drivers that have requested that their deposit be held for a future rental, they must reach out to support when they are finished renting to initiate the deposit release. The deposit can take 2-10 business days to reach the Driver account once released.
